So you want to know me?

Y’all, I feel honored you want to read about me. I mean, you might be a family member or a friend, but I appreciate you looking at my website.

So if you already know about me, why are you here? (signal Mean Girls line) Maybe you want to know more about me, see if I’m a phony, or you have no clue about me and are eager to know more. Either way, here we go.

My name is Daniela. Born and raised in Rochester, NY. Only girl out of 4 kids and I happen to be the baby (adult age, but child-like behaviors). My parents are from Italy; my dad is from Abbruzzo and my mom is from Basilicata.

I grew up around the kitchen. I would spend summers with my Nonna, helping her cook. In the basement kitchen with my mom, side by side, taking “samples” of everything she made. When I moved to Austin, TX last year, I was devistated that mom wasn’t around the corner to get her delicious food on my way home from work. I actually had to learn how to cook like mom, no more winging some random meal I found on Pinterest - no offense to anyone, there just weren’t any of my mom’s meals on there so ya know… not the same.

I started working and developing my skills to be more like mom. I already have her attitude and look like her, mine as well cook like her. It started with her pizza dough, then pasta sauce, and well, endless options from there. Now she sends me videos of her cooking so I can try it myself down here.

I have many friends and even family members asking how to make several of my mom’s dishes, so I figured the best way to share was to document it and the best way to get it out was to create a central source with all the information. Thus Sopra Mia Tavola was born!

I hope y’all enjoy this!! Truly! I try to create all my content from the bottom of my heart. It may take me some time to get my content up, but please know it’s because if I take my time learning and perfecting as best as I can so I can provide the truest form of the recipe. If you don’t know, Italians don’t measure, at least not with measuring tools. We measure by sight, feel, and our heart.

If you enjoy my blog and social posts, please like, comment, and share! Word of mouth is the best type of advertisement anyone could receive! Almost better than three color cookies.

Saluti!
